” I was given lemons so, I made lemonade!”

I am currently stationed in Kansas and I have to admit I was not enthused about planting roots here. The only thought I could think of when I found out I was moving to KS was the Wizard of Oz and those red glitter heels. I mean, Dorothy did not look like she was having a good time in KS (lmao) to me. Nevertheless, I put pushed many of my goals and dreams to the side due to my move to the middle of the United State!! Oh and because of a little thing called. . .DEPLOYMENT!!

I deployed NOV 2015 for 7 months. But while I was overseas, all I could think about was everything I wanted to do when I got back to the states. I definitely wasn’t living in the moment and I believe those moments when were aren’t where we want to be, are the moments we take for granted. I had this revelation about a month or two before returning home. So, when I returned in JULY 16, I hit the ground running.

I used my accumulated leave, earned during my deployment, to travel to different cities throughout the U.S.A that I have always wanted to visit and I had a freaking blast. I’ve been to Nashville, Dallas, Atlanta, and soon I will touch down in LOS FREAKING ANGELES!! I say all that to say this, if you think you are going to experience life by doing the same ole things all the time, YOU ARE NOT LIVING! GET YOUR ASS UP! If that means taking a different route to work every now and again or getting a #4 instead of a #3 all the time…DO IT! Because when it is all said and done, you should be able to taste that lemonade on your tongue. . .FOREVER.

CHALLENGE: I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. Take baby steps. Write me on my blog or leave your feedback on my IG. Trust, with experience comes wisdom!
